Lorraine is a Lead UX Researcher and digital transformation specialist with over a decade of experience helping organisations make better decisions through evidence, insight, and human-centred design. Her work focuses on understanding how people interact with systems, products and services, and translating complex research findings into clear, actionable insights that drive meaningful change.
Lorraine has led user research across government, healthcare, and technology sectors, working on large-scale programmes designed to improve digital services used by millions of people. She currently manages a team of UX researchers, supporting them in delivering impactful research to their clients, while helping organisations embed insight-driven decision making within product and delivery teams.
She specialises in strategic problem solving by identifying the root problem areas behind challenges, building robust evidence through research, and helping organisations navigate complex decisions with clarity and confidence.
In her current work within government, Lorraine is leading research exploring how artificial intelligence capabilities can be introduced responsibly to improve efficiencies in ways of working and better support complex user workflows. Her work focuses on understanding where AI can add genuine value, ensuring new capabilities are grounded in real user needs while improving productivity and decision-making across teams.
Alongside her work in digital services, Lorraine has a background in clinical research and has made contributions to academic research within healthcare and has a number of peer-reviewed publications. This unique combination of experience allows her to bridge the worlds of research, technology, and human behaviour to ensure that innovation remains grounded in real user needs.
Lorraine is also passionate about building inclusive and supportive workplaces. As the founder of Leap with L, a mentoring and coaching service, she supports early-career researchers and professionals looking to grow their careers in user research. She is particularly committed to empowering women in tech, helping them develop confidence in their expertise, communicate their value effectively, and navigate complex organisational environments, through her passion project.
