Michaela Gyasi-Agyei is a Ghanaian-Australian researcher, analyst and qualified lawyer who is interested in technology policy, cyber security and African geopolitics. She holds a Bachelors of Economics/Laws (Honours) from the University of Queensland, and graduated as Valedictorian of her cohort. She has worked in government agencies and private organisations, advising on issues such as digital privacy, technology procurement, corporate governance and foreign investment. Michaela participated in an AI & Emerging Tech Policy Bootcamp organised by the Tech Policy Design Institute in 2025. In 2024, she was selected to participate in the inaugural Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) Australia. She was previously the Africa Fellow for Young Australians in International Affairs, and the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Correspondent for the Young Diplomats Society. In 2023, she was awarded first place in the Young Diplomats Society’s Foreign Policy Case Competition. She is currently a Youth Leader at the African Australian Advocacy Centre.
