Malaysia H. Harrell

Her Excellency, Malaysia Harrell, LICSW, LCSW-C, BCD, is a WOLMI United Nations Peace Ambassador, board-certified psychotherapist, spiritual transformation coach, veteran, award-winning entrepreneur, keynote speaker, and author. As founder and CEO of Blissful Life Consulting, she empowers high-achieving professionals to find alignment, resilience, and personal growth through transformative coaching and mental health services.

With nearly 30 years of experience, Malaysia’s career spans the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS), private practice, and government leadership. She held pivotal roles, including Chief for Military-Specific Clinical Communities at the Defence Health Agency and Chief of the Child, Adolescent, and Family Branch at SAMHSA, advancing national mental health initiatives for service members and youth.

Malaysia collaborated with the White House, U.S. Congress, and the Surgeon General’s Office to lead national efforts in substance abuse prevention, mental health advocacy, and suicide prevention. As Special Assistant to the U.S. Surgeon General, she helped launch the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention.

Her work is deeply personal, fueled by overcoming childhood trauma, serious illness, and near-death experiences. Through the Malaysia Harrell Foundation, she champions mental health accessibility and holistic healing for underserved communities.

Malaysia’s impact has been recognised with the Surgeon General’s Exemplary Service Medal, Department of Defence Meritorious Service Medal, the Distinguished Service Medal, University of Maryland School of Social Work Alumni of the Year Award (2021), and the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
