Athena Witter

I build commercially durable media businesses by aligning IP, platform economics and capital discipline.
With more than 20 years of experience across BBC Studios, Fremantle, ITV and Channel 4, I have led within international organisations, influenced multi market P&L performance and scaled globally recognised franchises including Doctor Who, Top Gear, Bluey, Love Island and Britain’s Got Talent.
As Vice President, Digital Programming at BBC Studios, I led an organisation of more than 80 people with five direct reports, overseeing over 100 channels across 17 languages and delivering:
- 111% growth in digital advertising revenue
- 92% increase in global view time
- 14B+ lifetime platform views
- European Publisher of the Year at the Lovie Awards
I have built and managed strategic relationships across global platforms including YouTube, Google, TikTok, Snap Inc., Meta and WeAre8, aligning distribution, monetisation and rights strategy at global scale.
My career has consistently sat at the intersection of audience growth, commercial monetisation and platform economics. I have structured platform partnerships, influenced digital P&L, integrated branded entertainment and advertising models, and built revenue share frameworks that scale internationally.
My work spans advertising, branded entertainment, affiliate commerce, retail and beauty partnerships, and platform distribution strategy. This includes commercial integrations across FMCG, fashion and retail sectors, aligning brand objectives with measurable audience and revenue outcomes.
In 2025, I founded Engine Pop, a strategic growth vehicle advising leadership teams, boards and investors on portfolio viability, IP expansion and long term value creation.
I operate at the intersection of:
- Commercial growth and capital allocation
- Platform and audience strategy
- IP expansion and monetisation
- Portfolio optimisation
- Executive and board level advisory
Open to senior transformation mandates, equity aligned growth roles and board opportunities.
