Our Vision & Purpose

Every young person deserves access to role models who look like them, speak like them, and navigate challenges they understand.

Our Schools Partnership Programme brings representation, digital confidence, and meaningful industry exposure directly into UK classrooms, helping Black girls build belief, develop skills, and envision a future in technology where they can thrive.

We use storytelling, mentorship, hands-on tech learning, and personal development work to create impactful experiences. The Voices in The Shadow is one of the inspirational storytelling resources we bring into schools. Still, the programme is broader, a full ecosystem designed to spark visibility, curiosity, and long-term ambition.

Our Approach

We blend identity, skills, industry connections, and personal growth.

Inputs

  • Real stories and lived experiences (including The Voices in the Shadow)
  • Mentors, guest speakers & tech industry partners
  • Digital literacy and tech-skills resources
  • Trained facilitators from the GTA Black Women in Tech network

Activities

  • Story-led workshops
  • Digital skills sessions (AI, coding, design, digital literacy)

  • Career exposure events
  • Confidence-building and reflective journaling

These elements combine to create a learning environment that feels empowering, relatable, and future-focused.

How to Get Involved

For Schools - Get Involved

We partner with secondary schools across the UK that want to strengthen representation, enrich their curriculum, and give students meaningful exposure to real careers in technology. Trained facilitators fully deliver our programme and bring role models, practical digital skills, and personal development directly into the classroom. Schools benefit from an engaging, future-focused learning experience that supports both DEI priorities and Gatsby Benchmark requirements, helping students build confidence, aspiration, and a genuine sense of possibility.

Key Benefits for Schools:

  • Access to diverse Black women role models in tech
  • Digital literacy and creative tech learning experiences
  • Mentorship and real-world career awareness
  • Support in delivering DEI, enrichment, and future-skills objectives
