Building Legacies And Inspiring The Next Generation

After the success of volume 1, we will design a new creative book for volume 2. 51 new black women stories are part of the hard copy but we will continuously extend the number of featured stories in the digital version. Each story comes with an interactive section, a journal, and career advice for non-tech and tech roles. ‘The Voices in the Shadow’ volume 2 will again showcase the journeys of 51 Black women in the UK and Ireland who impacted the tech industry.

  • We have already distributed copies of the book for FREE to 300 schools across the UK and Ireland in 2021 but for 2022 we will distribute 500 copies.
  • For Black History Month, we will host a Festival open to the public for the launch of the book which will take place on the 27th of October 2022. We will have three rooms: the first room for panels and keynotes; the 2nd room for sponsor interactions with attendees and the third room for networking, photoshoots and live interviews,
  • We will again measure the impact of the book and produce a report which will present insights and data about the book initiative, and scholars’ aspirations to start a career in technology. The report will be made available to the government, media, schools, and companies
  • We also continue to carry out activities to connect scholars and the women of the book. For example, digital or in school storytelling events

  • Black Tie Event: we will host a private black-tie event on the 23rd of June 2022 with prestigious guests for the presentation of the art collection designed for The Voices In The Shadow Volume 2. The Voices in the Shadow Festival

On the 27th of October, we held our Voices in the Shadow Festival to celebrate the release of Volume 2 of our Book. The day covered four main Pillars: Pillar 1: Career Growth, Pillar 2: Web 3.0, NFT, Metaverse, Fintech, Pillar 3: Raising your profile and Pillar 4: Entrepreneurship, Investment & Bootstrapping. The festival featured panels with speakers from our book as well as stalls held by our sponsors. The day was an amazing celebration of Black women in Tech and all that we have and continue to achieve.
