Bianca Dakamela Ncube is a Chemical Engineer turned Data Engineer to Solutions Architect – one who isn’t afraid to pivot and learn. Born in South Africa, she grew up as one of the Black Scots who migrated to Scotland in the 2000s, settling in Glasgow. After earning a First Class Honours degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, she began her career as a Data Engineer at Barclays, where she quickly made her mark by engineering high-availability data pipelines for global payments systems. Her technical excellence and strategic thinking led to her current role as a Solutions Architect, where she now architects fraud detection systems.
Beyond her technical contributions, she is committed to increasing diversity in technology. As a Code First Girls Ambassador, she mentored aspiring women technologists and developed innovative strategies to attract more women into the field. She has also served as a keynote speaker at women-in-tech conferences, using her platform to inspire Black women and young girls to see themselves flourishing in technology careers.
