About Amarachi

Amarachi ‘s Biography

Amarachi Okereke was born in Nigeria. She grew up in Okigwe, Imo State, where her parents were petty traders. She studied English Language and Literature at Abia State University Uturu and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Her passion for learning led her to become a teacher. She quickly rose to the position of Head of the Department for Arts and Languages due to her outstanding performance and produced the best GCSE results in the English Language in her school for 2009-2010 academic year.

She left Nigeria for the UK in July 2014 to be with her husband. In the UK, it was tough finding her feet as she didn’t want to teach anymore. She decided to child-mind for friends and family while raising her kids.

Amarachi’s dream has always been to have a career where she can achieve and maintain a great work-life balance. This dream brought her into Tech.

In 2020, she heard about coding and was introduced to the creative world of Computer Programming and by 2022, she successfully transitioned into tech and became a Software Engineer.

She is currently a Service Delivery Analyst at Capgemini working under the Applications Management Services (AMS), where she assists Service Delivery Managers in providing bespoke IT services and managing client applications.

She is a Christian, a wife, and a mother to four adorable children. Her life journey has inspired so many black women around her never to give up on their dreams.

She’s the founder of Inspiring Stories, a new page aimed at promoting the struggles behind the success, the tears behind the smiles, and the amazing stories of individuals who against all odds still made it to the top.
