Melissa’s Biography

Melissa Ababio-Marsh went from being a service desk analyst to a front-end developer via self-learning. Never one to shy away from a challenge, this transformation happened whilst on maternity leave with her second child. Melissa is an avid technologist, who loves solving problems along with writing code. Over the past ten years, Melissa had worked within a number of different IT support environments, offering both first and second line support to clients including trading floor support and technical support for a 6* hospitality group and the Cabinet Office.

She has used the transferable skills learnt on the various services desk to give her clients a more engaging level of service and care, which has been positively received and has led to client recommendations.

Melissa is very committed toward professional and on-going personal development. In her spare time, she regularly attends tech events, programming workshops and developer courses. Melissa is a member of numerous tech communities such as Code First Girls, Global Tech Advocates, Coding Black Females, Ada’s list and Every Woman.

Melissa is one of the founding members of the Woman in Digital group within the Cabinet Office, where they encourage, support and aim to empower current and new female staff.
