My Biography

 

Eneni Abban is a Robotics Engineer, STEM Communicator, Multi Award-Winning Speaker and Founder of International Anime and Gaming community, Anime and Chill. She recently was named as a 2021 Rising Star in Tech by WeAreTech Women, offered a fully funded membership to be a part of the prestigious BCS, Chartered Institute for IT and has been recognised by The Institute of Engineering and Technology in their “Celebrating impact” exhibition at their flagship location Savoy Place, for being an engineer who has made a large impact on the world.

An advocate for diversity and inclusion as well as a self-professed geek, Eneni has a strong passion to demystify and eradicate the negative stereotypes and limiting societal expectations placed on women that affect us pursuing and retaining careers in tech.

She hopes that by being visible and transparent about her own tech journey through her platform The Techover that other women will feel empowered and confident to pursue a career in whatever they are passionate about too. She can be found on most social media including Youtube under the alias, “The Techover” where she shares her experiences as a black woman in STEM and learning resources/tech tutorials for those interested in both the data and robotics space.

She has worked in multiple tech sectors from developing algorithms for self-driving cars to data analysis and optimization for some of the biggest gaming apps in the World. She currently works as a Product Owner for an E-commerce Tech Startup based in Ghana whilst on a Scholarship Masters degree in Data Science at The University of the West of England.


When not working or at university, she organizes several coding and robotics workshops globally with her NGO, The Techover Foundation, to encourage, educate and support the next generation into pursuing careers in STEM – the most recent being teaching girls from Rural Nigeria how to build their first robot, which was sponsored by accredited engineering organisation, Arduino.
