Dr Claudia Igbrude has over 20 years’ experience, knowledge and expertise in driving and influencing the adoption and implementation of technology in higher education and large corporation settings while creating inclusive cultures and driving innovation. She has designed strategies to drive employee learning, development in both corporate and higher education spaces as well as in the community.
She is currently the Learning Technology Leader for PayPal where she leads and contributes to strategies for organizational transformation of training, learning and development of employees. She established the employee resource group for Black employees in Ireland, is a founding committee member of the interfaith employee resource group, and on the leadership committee for the Pan-Asian Employee resource group. She is a member of various diversity and inclusion strategy groups providing organization leaders with strategic and sustainable recommendations on building practices and processes to drive diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging through hiring, progression and retention of employees. Since 2020, she has also been on the advisory board of another global multinational company (HubSpot) providing strategic guidance to the leadership to identify areas of improvement to build an inclusive company for all stakeholders.
From 2019 to 2021, Claudia was the Women in AI Ireland Education Lead and focused on creating a team and designing a strategy and programme for diversifying the Artificial Intelligence talent pipeline in Ireland by building a learning community for women from diverse backgrounds. She served on the Select Vestry of the Lucan and Leixlip Union of Parishes of the Church of Ireland for 3years providing oversight for ensuring governance integrity, legal and regulatory compliance as well as ensuring the adherence to the vision and values of the parish.
Prior to PayPal, Claudia worked with the TU Dublin (Dublin Institute of Technology) for 7 years until 2014 as part of the Learning Teaching Technology Team (a team focused on transforming teaching practice, attended as a student, and conducted her PhD research which proposed a set of guidelines for how a higher education institution could enable a sustainable mobile learning enabled environment. Claudia holds qualifications from universities in Nigeria, Ireland and the UK: B.Sc (Hons) Industrial Mathematics, Higher Diploma in Computing, M.Sc Learning Technologies, PhD Computer Science, Post-Graduate Diploma Product Management, Certificate in Media Law and Intellectual Property.
