Damilola’s Biography

Damilola Ogunsola is a software engineer at IBM and Tech enthusiast who delved into programming as a hobby in 2015. She received her B.S degree in Statistics at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2014 and her master’s degree in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Houston, clear lake, in 2019, where she was awarded “Outstanding software Engineering graduate student.”

In her role as a software engineer at IBM, she develops systems to prevent malicious, criminal, and financial fraud activities in the cloud. Outside of her day-to-day job, she spends her spare time mentoring people both within IBM (interns) and outside of work. Through her experience navigating the tech field and seeing both the issue of gender disparity and insufficient/overwhelming information, she started using her platform to provide information on how to delve into tech. She created a blog (Her Stem diary) to simplify the career switch journey, helping young people make informed career decisions, and point them to the right resources.
